The City of Pittsfield is currently working with local, state, and federal authorities and are preparing to offer the free H1N1 vaccine to our priority groups as it becomes available.  Please visit the H1N1 link to the right for the most accurate and current  up to date information and other links. The mission of the Pittsfield Health Department, under the guidance of the Board of Health, is to promote, protect and sustain environmental and public health and further enhance health and safeguard the environment by assessing community needs and to provide prevention, protection, and educational resources to ensure the highest quality of life within the City of Pittsfield.

The Pittsfield Health Department under state statute is responsible for licensing and inspecting businesses that provide services to the public that include, but not limited to:

All housing, community sanitation, food establishments, and environmental investigation inspections and results, with the exception of medical and personnel records are all a matter of public record. Please make an appointment and/or contact the Health Department for an appointment  for viewing.
